As Silulo Foundation, we wish all our partners, beneficiaries, collaborators, and community members a happy and prosperous New Year. The beginning of a new year offers us a moment to reflect on our journey, celebrate collective achievements, and renew our commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and communities.
As we concluded in 2025, one of the most impactful moments was our Closing Function held on 5 December 2025. This gathering stood as a meaningful reflection of the values we hold which are connection, remembrance, and growth.
The function paid tribute to a fellow entrepreneur we sadly lost, Ntombizanele Zingela. Ntombizanele’s entrepreneurial spirit, resilience, and contribution to the ecosystem continue to inspire those who walk similar paths. Honouring her life and legacy reminded us of the human stories behind entrepreneurship and the responsibility we carry to uplift and support one another.
While the tribute brought moments of reflection, the day was also memorable for its warmth and joy. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, shared experiences, and genuine connections in reinforcing the importance of community in both business and life.
A highlight of the day was our friendly and exciting pitching competition, which showcased talent, confidence, and healthy competition:
- Yolanda secured 1st place with an outstanding performance
- Susan gracefully followed closely in 2nd place
We extend our congratulations to all participants for contributing to the energy and success of the event.
As we move forward into 2026, we remain committed to creating opportunities that empower entrepreneurs to turn ideas into sustainable ventures. Applications for the Silulo Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme are currently open and will close on 31 January 2026. We encourage aspiring and existing entrepreneurs to take this step towards growth, skills development, and support within a thriving ecosystem.
