Cape Town, South Africa – 30 local entrepreneurs came together at Isivivana Centre, in Khayelitsha, to kickstart the Silulo Foundation entrepreneurship programme bootcamps. The first session took place on the 25th of February and was led by social entrepreneur and founder of Silulo, Luvuyo Rani.

This first cohort of entrepreneurs includes business owners of different levels and from industries including, design, electrical and alternative energy, digital marketing, cosmetics, landscaping, and more. The entrepreneurs started off by introducing themselves and their businesses to each other, in an effort to cultivate a community of networking, support and connection. Thereafter, Luvuyo presented an introductory lesson on what it takes to be an Entrepreneur. He took the entrepreneurs through behaviours, attitudes and ways of thinking that are necessary when pursuing your own venture.

It really set the tone for the upcoming Bootcamp sessions and the rest of the programme. In this programme we really value authencity and vulnerability when approaching developing entrepreneurs in the community. We create a safe space for the upliftment of entrepreneurs through their successes and their failures.
